Besides focusing on customer satisfaction, GRUMA is concerned about the well being of society and the environment. GRUMA is involved in several projects that help people with limited financial resources in Mexico. The company does not only donate funds and products, but its employees volunteer their time and energy in critical situations.

Shareholders of GRUMA created in 1986 the Board for Development of Education and Assistance of Cerralvo A.B.P. to carry out these projects for community's welfare. Since then, its mission has been to collaborate with the authorities and promote their contribution toward solving education, health and social assistance, sports and community development problems.
The Cerralvo Board also try to act as an effective vehicle to rapidly and directly focus assistance from citizens and institutions to solve problems of the most disadvantaged communities.

During these years of work, the Board’s activities have been concentrated in three main areas: education and sports development, strengthening the municipal infrastructure and several community development programs.
